Ella Grace is ONE!

It's hard to believe that an entire year has passed since I took Ella Grace's newborn photos.  If you missed that post, you can check them out by clicking here.  She is now one year old and is an absolute doll.  In fact, Ava has named every baby doll in our house after her.

Over the weekend we drove down to Alabama to visit my grandfather (Bigdaddy) who was in poor health.  We were taking the girls to visit their great-grandfather and specifically for Bigdaddy to meet Aubrey, our 7 week old daughter, his namesake.  We arrived at my Aunt's house late Friday night and planned on visiting with him Saturday morning.  Bigdaddy passed away at 3:45 that morning, and was just a few hours shy of holding his newest great-granddaughter.

I will miss calling him on my drive home from work each week, telling him about the girls, talking about the weather, my car, and his tomatoes.  I wish so badly that he could have held Aubrey in his arms.  I know he would have been so proud.  I know he will hold her one day when we meet again in heaven.

While we were in Alabama we had a 5 minute photo shoot with my cousin Trey's gorgeous daughter Ella Grace.  Bigdaddy will live on in our hearts and through the blood of his 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, Ava, Aubrey & Ella Grace.
